Carl’s first acting experience was in 5th grade when he appeared in a commercial for the Jefferson County Public School system in Louisville, Kentucky called “Marvelous Murders.” Carl has performed as a stand-up comic and worked in rooms such as the Funny Farm in Louisville, Kentucky, the Improv, the Hotel Pennsylvania, and Stand up New York here in New York City. Carl has toured his one-person show “Ode To Mr. B” about Jazz great Billy Eckstine, in night clubs and theaters like the Knitting Factory, Theater East, The Harold Clurman and The Samuel Beckett theaters on Theater Row in NYC, Back Alley Theater in Boston, the AS220 Club in Rhode Island, and the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in CT.

Carl has starred in his “Original Hepcat Revue” in which he wrote, directed, and produced along with the Big Band in rooms like Danny’s Skylight Room, the Iridium, the “Jamming on the Hudson Jazz Festival,” The “World Famous Cotton Club,” the Historic “ Garjulios” on Coney Island, The Famous “Rudy Beau Vieage” in Dobbs Ferry, and the Pines Resort Hotel in the Catskills. Carl portrayed tap dancer Bill Bojangles in the original sold-out production of “Dreams of Broadway” at the Tropicana Showroom in Atlantic City. 

On stage, Carl has portrayed the title role of “Othello” in “Othello” at the NADA Theater, the Mayor in “Day of Absence” at the Harlem Theater, Reverend Meridian in James Baldwin’s “Blues For Mr. Charlie” at the Studio Theater, Joe in the award-winning “Otis and Zora” at the Historic Billie Holiday Theater, as well as Deacon in the award-winning “Freeda Peoples,” and Joshua in “Know Thy Enemy” also at the Billie Holiday respectively. 

On television, Carl has been seen as Frank in “Skins” for the BBC, James Watson in “I Homicide,” and Detective White in “Homicide City,” and Uncle John in “The Perfect Murder.”

In films, Carl has been seen as “Carl” in the award-winning “Hostile” by Mathieu Turi, as “Sam” in the award-winning “Unknown Soldier” by Ferenc Tóth, “Henry” in the award-winning “Pro Black Sheep” by Clayton Broom, “Detective T “ in the award-winning “1 Angry Black Man”, by Menelek Lumumba, Paddy in “A New Christmas,” by Dani Tenenbaum, “Biz D” in “Tea Time at Hip Hop Nation, with Ethel Jenny, “Marvin Jackson” and “Officer Lake” in “The Changing Same,” by award winning producer’s and directors Joe & Michelle Brewster, which had its premiere recently at the Sundance Film Festival as well as the Tribeca Film festival. Carl can be seen as “Murph” in the film “FLAKY”, directed by Micheal A. Obiazi, and released & distributed on Free Style Digital and available on all digital platforms.

In commercials, audiences can see Carl in the national Perdue Chicken Commercial and “The Knick fan” on MSG for Budweiser, “The Neighborhood” on NY1, the surgical Plumber in “Would you Trust a plumber ” for Financial Services, James for “Verizon,” The Chief” in “Culturelle Probiotics,” the Husband in “E-Lend,” and Dad in “Crouse Hospitals”.

Carl can currently be seen as the Sax playing Bandleader” in the new national CNN promo on The Story of Late Night” on CNN, with anchor Erin Burnett.

Carl can also be seen the “Fishing Dad” in the FLEX commercial spots, and as @Fred “ in the LRN workplace Micro Aggressions spots.

Carl will be seen as “Arthur” in the forthcoming GiEICO spot , as well as the “sax playing Grandpa” in the “Duets” GOOGLE FIBER national spot.
Carl can also be seen in the General Mills cereal national spot , in which he plays a record producer producing a remake of the “Monster Mash” song with Count Chocula, Boo Berry & Franken Berry.

Carl can be seen as “Maurice”in the film the “Fuse” by awarding winning filmmaker Kevin Haefelin and is proud to announce that the film has become an OSCAR qualifying film with Matthew Modine as executive producer Carl can be seen as “Dad” in the forthcoming award winning Horror feature “Alone Together”, by William Kresch.

Carl can also be seen in the national Cirkul drink commercial as the “Dancing Boss”.

Carl can be seen as the principle in the Digital One Media & Green space ad “Memories”.

Carl can also be seen as 1 of the newest virtual Santa’s in Macy’s Santa Land experience, and also as “Will the butcher “in the upcoming film the “Clock Painter”, and Derek in the international feature” Songbird”, directed by award winning director Juhyoung Ra

Carl can also be seen as the “Coach” in upcoming boxing film “Eight Count” directed byAvery Israel, as well as Gus in the Psychological Horror film “ Inheritance” , directed by Anthony Misiano.

Carl is a frustrated 🎷 player , who has after 40 years , finally realized that he is NOT Charlie Parker, or even close.😬
